At present Vidyalaya is a Five-section school up to class XII with the total strength of 2736 as on 31 August 2009, out of which students are from defence and others are from civil background. It has all the three streams i.e. Science, Commerce and Humanities. Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Jaipur was established in the year 1979 and has been serving the needs of society, specially defence, since its inception. Due to its unique contribution in the field of education the Vidyalaya was given the status of ‘Model School’ by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan in the year 1999. The Vidyalaya spread across -15 acres of land on Lease with Government. It has rich facilities for Games & Sports such as - Basket Ball court, Badminton Court, Volley Ball Court.

Vidyalaya has a lush green environment with Mini Zoo, Children Park, Mathematical Park, Botany Logical Park, and a new innovation- Tiny Tots Sand Park for Primary Children.
